| You should receive a Bill of Lading from your Hutchins mover. This is the receipt for your goods and the contract for their transportation. It is your responsibility to understand the bill of lading before you sign it. If you do not agree with something on the bill of lading, do not sign it until you are satisfied that it is correct. The bill of lading is an important document. Don't lose or misplace your copy. |
| When moving plan ahead as much as possible. I do not mean the week ahead, but months in advance. Arrange for Hutchins movers and and help. Furthermore, take into consideration the time of the move. For instance, try not to move to the upper midwest during January and avoid the south in the middle of August. Just a little common sense. |
| Before your Hutchins mover arrives, get rid of trash and flammable items
Eliminate as much trash as you can before moving day. Last-minute garbage will inevitably build up the day prior to and the day of loading. Try making a deal with a neighbor to use their trash container for your last-minute debris.

| If you decide to use a Hutchins mover, make sure to clearly mark and set aside items you don't want loaded. This will remind you to tell the driver what not to load as you conduct your preload walkthrough. Make sure your important paperwork pertaining to the move doesn't get packed and shipped with your household goods. |
| The Hutchins mover is known as the Carrier. A carrier is just a term signifying the mover providing transportation of your household goods. |
| A AMSA Certified Van Line is a Hutchins mover that is an interstate carrier that transports your household goods shipment under its own authority, granted by the Federal Highway Administration, on a national basis. Van Lines use a network of agents throughout the country to provide the origin, destination and hauling services needed to accomplish your move. Like Certified Movers, AMSA Certified Van Lines subscribe to the AMSA Code of Conduct. |
| If you are going to have friends or family help in the moving process, line these people up ahead of time, as people need time to 'fit' your moving day into their day. Have someone on standby, as people get sick. Have your Hutchins movers ordered as far in advance as possible. |
